Top 5 Favorite High End Lipsticks

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

My favorite part of doing my makeup is the lipstick. I am a lip junkie. I have way to many lip products but I can't help it I think it so fun.

Today I am going to share with you my top five favorite high end  lipsticks

one. Hue by Mac This was my first Mac lipstick that I ever bought. It is still one of my favorites because it is the perfect nude pink color for my skin tone. I keep one in my purse at all times because it is easy to apply and looks good with any outfit. It is a glaze which means it is sheer but it is definitely buildable.

two. Viva Glam Nicki by Mac
I love this bright pink color for the Spring and Summer. It is so fun, girly, and bright. It can be a little intimidating but I just think it is so fun. The only downside to this color is it can be a little drying so I would recommend applying a  lip balm before you apply this.

three. Angel by Mac
This is hands down my favorite lipstick of all time. It is the PERFECT baby pink color and looks good on any skin tone. It is my go to lip color all year round because it looks good with any look your are going for.

four. Rebel by Mac
Rebel is a berry/plum color that looks absolutely gorgeous on any skin tone. However if you have very fair skin it will look a little vampy but it still looks amazing. The color scared me at first but after applying it I loved it. I love wearing this in the Fall/Winter especially but find myself wearing it even in the Summer.

five. Moulin Rouge by Make Up For Ever
This is the perfect red. I think a red lipstick is a staple in anyone's collection. Moulin Rouge is a deep fire engine red that lasts a fairly long time. I've tried a lot of red lipsticks and this one is the only one that doesn't wash me out or make me look like a clown.

What are some of your favorite brands & colors?

I can't even remember the last time I linked up with Neely for Sunday Social. I love the questions this week so I couldn't pass it up.

What is your favorite store to shop at? I love Macy's. I find some really cute things and it seems like they are always having a sale.

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
I am obsessed with Lilly Pullitzer lately. Especially the print below.

Must have closet staple?

Favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type) This is easy.. Tory Burch. LOVE her shoes.

Best clothing deal you’ve ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)
I can't remember a specific time where I was like "wow this is the best deal ever". But, like I said before I like Macys because they usually always have a 20% off coupon floating around. I also like Kohls, TjMaxx, and Old Navy for finding good deals.

Style you’d love to try?
Boho. I could never pull it off but love when girls who can do.

Have a great rest of the weekend. See you back here tomorrow :)

Colors Of The Rainbow

Thursday, June 20, 2013

Today I am going to do the Colors of the Rainbow Tag.

If you haven't heard of it before you go through the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, & violet) and then pink & multicolored are added and show a product that correspond with that color!

Red: Makeup Forever lipstick in Rouge Artist Intense
This will forever be my favorite red lipstick. It is just perfect.

Orange: Beyond The Zone Noodle Head Curling Crème
My hair is naturally very curly. When I want to wear it curly or lets be honest if I am to lazy to straighten it I use this to tame the beast frizz. This is the only product I will use because it doesn't leave my hair crunchy or sticky like most products do.

Yellow: Dove Hair Therapy Detangler
I love this product because it is a 2 in 1 type deal. It is a detangler but  it also has argon oil in it so it is nourishing my hair as well. It is also Dove so it is pretty inexpensive.

Green: Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Moisturizer in Lime Coolada
I'm not going to lie I bought this strictly because it smelled good. It smells like lime and coconuts and to say I'm obsessed is an understatement. Besides the fact that it smells good it really works well. I use it after being out in the sun and it prevents me from peeling. I used to use regular moisturizer and I would still peel. This product is a must for me in the Summertime.

Blue: Revlon Nail Lacquer in 410 Dreamer
This is a powder blue but it works. I love having this on my nails when I have a tan. It isn't to blue which I like.

Indigo: Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Crème Eye shadow pencil
This isn't really Indigo but it was the closest thing I could find. I use this as an eyeliner for my bottom lash line when I want a pop of color. I love it.

Violet: got2b POWDER'ful volumizing styling powder
Whenever I want to tease my hair I use this. It gives me volume even before I back comb. I just sprinkle a little on my roots and rub it in. The only downfall to this is that if you use to much it does get very sticky.

Pink: Beauty Blender
I've done a whole post on this here. It is amazing and I use it practically every day.

Multicolored: UD Deslick Oil Control Setting Spray
I use this every single day before and after I put on my makeup. It keeps me matte for a lot longer. I wouldn't even bother putting on makeup in the Summer without this.

7 deadly sins of fashion

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Happy Wednesday! Today I am going to share with you my 7 deadly sins of fashion.

Gluttony: What do you own in excess? Def. my shoes. I am addicted. Especially now that I am losing weight I really don't want to buy a lot of clothes so I buy shoes because shoes will always fit!

Greed: What type of clothing do you always have a desire to buy? Again, shoes but also statement necklaces and accessories. I have become an accessory whore over the past couple months. As soon as I go into a store I gravitate to the jewelry.

Sloth: What is your go-to outfit? Maxi dresses or Sun dresses. They are so easy to wear and throw on and it is an instant cute outfit.

Wrath: What makes you angry when shopping? I don't really get angry but more frustrated when I have something in mind I want to find and can't find it or when I see something really cute and there out of my size.

Envy: Which celebrity's fashion sense do you most envy? Lauren Conrad & Kate Middleton. They both dress so classic and have such a great sense of style.

photo cred

Lust: Which store's outside appearance do you find most physically attractive? J.Crew & Victoria's Secret. Whenever I pass both of those stores I have to go in because the outside always looks so fresh, fun, and put together.

photo cred

Pride: Out of all the outfits you have put together, which are you most proud of? I am most proud of the outfits that take 3 minutes to put together and look cute. It seems that whenever I don't try so hard it just comes together better.

Let me know what some of your 7 deadly sins are ;)

Perfume Collection

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

I have been kind of obsessing over perfumes lately. Which is kind of weird because I never was really into them all that much before. Now I have found myself with 10+ bottles and it's kind of getting out of hand.

Today I am going to share with you my perfume collection.

In no particular order..

CK Shock for her- This is a very edgy & sexy scent. It is one of my favorites for the Spring & Summer.

Aruba Coconut by B&BW- I just got this last week and it is already a favorite it smells sooo good. It is perfect for Summer.

Poppy by Coach- This is a more floral scent. I'm usually not into the whole floral scent thing but I love this and wear it a lot in the Spring.

Hearts & Daggers by Ed Hardy- This is one of my all time favorites. I've gone through 2 bottles of this already & I am on my last bit of my 3rd. It is a kind of juicy/spicy scent.

Country Apple by B&BW- I recently just got this one as well and I am obsessed. This is going to be perfect for in the Fall.

Pink Sugar by Aquolina- This is an extremely sweet perfume. A little goes a long way and lasts a long time.

Pink Chiffon by B&BW- I love this scent all year long. It is a sweet/floral scent and I think it is really fun and girly.

Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift- I love the smell of this. Its fruity yet spicy and sometimes I get a whiff of vanilla. It's amazing and I highly recommend it.

Betsey Johnson- When I was in high school this was my favorite scent. I would wear it every single day. It smells like vanilla, fruits, & amber. The only down side to this is that it doesn't last very long.

Wild Citrus Sunflower by B&BW- This is amazing. I got this last Summer I believe and have been using it sparingly because I believe it got discontinued. It smells like sunflowers and nectarines.

Dot by Marc Jacobs- This is my favorite right now. It is a really girly scent and smells like berries and jasmine. If you need a new perfume I highly recommend this one.

Unbreakable by Khloe & Lamar- This is a unisex scent. I picked this up at TjMaxx without even smelling it one day. It is a very spicy & musky scent. I like wearing this at night and in the Winter. This also lasts a very long time. I can smell it on my clothes the next day.

I am always looking to try new perfumes so let me know of some of your favorites!

My Lazy Weekend Update

Monday, June 17, 2013

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My weekend was pretty relaxing. Which was fine by me because I have been exhausted lately. I don't know why but lately I can't fall asleep till 3-5am. It's really starting to irritate me.

I'm liking up with Sami for Weekend Shenanigans!

one. I got my Ipsy bag on Monday & I am loving it!

two. nothing like a Green Tea Lemonade to start your Saturday off

three. spent Sunday on the couch with dad watching the U.S. open. I was so happy Justin Rose won.

four. fact: this is the best laptop wallpaper ever.

And because it was Father's Day yesterday here is some throwbacks of my dad and I. The one in the middle in the second row makes me laugh.

If you saw this post. last Monday I will update you on how I did. Basically, it was a big fat fail.
I was strict on my diet but didn't exercise at all. I did continue to look for jobs and in my defense I tried calling my Grandma but she never answered! That woman is always busy!
My goals this week are going to be the exact same as they were this week. Let's see if I can do better. New week = fresh start!

I hope everyone has a great Monday :)

Beat The Heat

Thursday, June 13, 2013

If you live anywhere in the South I know you have had one of those days where you put on your makeup and literally 5 minutes later it has slid off your face.
I'm going to show you today what I use so that when its 100+ degrees out you aren't a grease ball.

one. Before I put on any makeup I spray UD De Slick Setting Spray all over my face. This helps me stay matte and my makeup stay on longer.

two. When it is that hot out I skip the foundation and go for a tinted moisturizer. I use one by Laura Mercier. Then I will use a Matte Powder over that. My favorites are by Rimmel and Maybelline.

three. For bronzer I use Nars Laguna and then for blush I use Tarte Amazonian Clay in Exposed just because that stuff doesn't go anywhere it will last all day.

four. I prime my eye lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance and then because it is so hot and I don't want to much makeup on I will just sweep a Maybelline Color Tattoo over my lid. My favorite is Bad to the Bronze.

five. I will then go ahead and spray UD De Slick all over my face again to set the makeup.

six. Next I will take any liquid eyeliner and apply it on my upper lash line. The key to this is after you apply the liquid eyeliner go in with a pencil brush and a black eye shadow and set it otherwise it will come off through out the day.

seven. Waterproof mascara is my best friend during the Summer months. Otherwise I would look like a raccoon.

eight. apply your favorite lipstick or lip gloss and viola you are ready to step outside and beat the heat!

Products I've Used Up

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

A couple months ago I did some Spring cleaning and came to the conclusion that I am a product junkie. I had so many unfinished products because I am always trying out new things and then I forget about the products I already have.

Today I am showing you all the products I have used up in the last couple months.

Caress Endless Kiss Body Wash- I love this brand of body wash and this scent smelled sooo good. It actually smelled like Egg Nog.

Oil- Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit- I had this face wash for at least 2 years. I would pull it out every now and again but then I would get tired of the scent. It took me forever to use it up. I will not be purchasing this again just because the scent annoyed me.

2 Pond's Makeup Remover Towelettes- I LOVE these things. I've tried a couple other brands and none of them even compare. They don't burn my eyes and they aren't dry they have a lot of soap on them.

Studio 35 beauty Makeup Remover Towelettes- These were awful. I used 5 of the 25 and they burned my eyes and irritated my skin. I used the rest for hand wipes. I will never repurchase these again.

CVS cleansing & makeup remover towelettes- My mom picked these up for me and she said the guy who worked there said these were a dupe for the Pond's towelettes. WRONG. they sucked.

White Cloud Cotton Rounds- I use cotton rounds to apply my toner and I hated this brand. From now on I am buying the ones with the exfoliating beads. The pure cotton ones are way to soft and fall apart.

Crest 3D White toothpaste- This is my favorite toothpaste ever.

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel- Cream for Dry Skin- I was having major problems with my skin and finding the right moisturizer. This saved my skin. It works so good and really moisturizes without breaking me out which was a problem for me. I have another moisturizer I am using up right now but after that's gone I am going back to this one because it is amazing.

Soap & Glory Face Soap- I got a little sample of this and heard a lot of great things about it but I don't think I would ever purchase the full size of this. It's a little pricey and didn't "wow" me.

Maybelline the Rocket Volum' Express Mascara- So many people rave about this mascara and love it. I liked it for a couple days and then decided I didn't like it so much. The formula was to wet for me. I'm not sure if I just got a bad one because like I said so many people like it so I am going to go get another one and try it out again.

Covergirl Lash Perfection- I loved this mascara. It gave my lashes great volume and it didn't make my lashes clumpy.

Maybelline the Colossal Volum' Express cat eyes mascara- I absolutely loved this mascara. The shape of the brush really helped me get every single lash. It gives great volume and didn't clump on me at all.

Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara- This is another mascara that is pretty wet. I didn't hate it but I don't think I would ever repurchase it just because there is other mascaras that I like better.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator- This is the first Rimmel mascara that I have ever tried so I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I really loved this mascara and the length it gave my lashes.

Maybelline One by One Volum' Express Mascara- I have tried every single Maybelline mascara that is out there and I think this is my least favorite. It separated my lashes but that's about all it did.

Covergirl Clump Crusher- LOVED it. I usually don't repurchase mascaras because I am always trying a new one out but I repurchased this 3 times because I loved it so much.  It gives my lashes length and volume and its not clumpy!

Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara- This is a great mascara if you are going for a more natural look. It is a very light mascara.

theBalm "the body builder" mascara- I got this in a Ipsy bag last year I believe and fell in love with. I wish it was a drugstore mascara because I would repurchase it.

be a.. Bombshell liquid eyeliner- I also got this in a Ipsy bag and fell in love with it. It was the only eyeliner I used for 3 months. I was so sad when it dried up.

Maybelline Line Express Eyeliner- I use a pencil eyeliner for my bottom waterline and love this one because it doesn't smudge.

Those are all the products I have used up recently. Have a great Tuesday!
